The weather has finally turned a little warmer and one of our favorite things this time of year is summer outdoor dining. We especially like to eat dinner on the patio table out on the front deck. I don’t know why, but it feels like a picnic even if we don’t go anywhere. Then after dinner we can just relax and watch the traffic go by. Reminds me of times gone by when people would sit on the front porch and visit with the neighbors as they strolled past.

I can’t wait to share with you where I purchased the blue plates – my favorite local thrift shop. I was looking through the dishes and saw a whole set, service for eight, complete with plates, salad plates, bowls, mugs and a condiment dish. I couldn’t believe the price – $15.00 for the whole set!! You better believe I grabbed them up. The check out girl was sure the price was wrong. She called the manager over and sure enough – $15.00.
They match perfectly with the flower vase, cream & sugar and cute chickens that used to belong to my Mom.

The sweet white salad plates were purchased from an antique store many years ago. I love the way they look with the dishes.

The white mugs were from Goodwill. I think I spent 30 cents each.
How about you? Do you have a favorite place in your yard for outdoor dining?
