Garden Flowers – A Walk Around The Yard

August 4th, 2011 | Posted by Sandy Garrett in Cottage Garden

One of my favorite colors is yellow and I love yellow roses.  The house we used to live in had three long stem yellow rose bushes in front of the house.  I really wanted to take them with us when we moved, but we were moving out of the state.

I’ve been looking for a yellow rose to add to our current yard and the other day ran into this beautiful rose at Lowes.  It doesn’t have long stems like my other roses, but I love it just the same.

I have loved pansies ever since I was a little girl.  And look at these with their pretty purple edging.  They were covered with blooms and I really like the way they look in the cute yellow tote that was a present from my sister.

The white bacopa looks great in the black wicker wall planter that I picked up at a garage sale.

The tag on the purple flowers said “Osteospermum” – looks like some kind of mum or daisy to me.

I love my maple tree.  We purchased it about two summers ago and it’s doing great.  Doubled it’s size this year.

Due to the cooler spring and summer we’ve been having this year, several of my daylilies have not bloomed.  It’s just now warming up so I’m hopeful a few more will bloom before fall sets in.

How has your garden flowers been doing this year?  Does anyone else grow daylilies?

Happy Gardening,
